What do we want students to learn?
What should each student know and be able to do as a result of each unit, grade level, and/or course? Identify Essential Learnings: R: Readiness, what is needed at the next grade level for success E: Endurance, skills needed for success in life A: Assessed, N-SCAS tested? Other? DOK 2-4? L: Leverage, Across grade levels Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum How will we know if they have learned it?
Are we monitoring each student's learning on a timely basis? Formative Assessment drives instruction. Instructional Agility should be embedded in the lesson based on formative needs. Common Formative Assessments: How are we working together to assure that every student is successful. Use SMART goals. What will we do if they don't learn it?
What systematic process is in place to provide additional time and support for students who are experiencing difficulty? See RTI! What will we do if they already know it?
Are we challenging top tier students? How are we pushing them? What is a PLC?
